Bark In The Park
Walk-a-thon
First Sunday in June at Greenway Park,
on Greenside Avenue, off Springbank Drive,
just west of Wharncliffe Road.
This family orientated event attracts people of all ages and backgrounds,
and takes place in beautiful Greenway Park where a 5km route has been mapped
out for our pledge earners. (For those with older or younger dog there is a
shorter walk available.) There are 11 Water Stations positioned along the
route to ensure a fresh supply of water for your dog, with most sponsored by
our generous veterinarian community. Remember to pick up a special treat for
your dog from our sponsor at the Finish Line!
In addition to the walk itself, participants are invited to visit our event
tents which house a wide array of exhibitors from the animal care industry
who offer products, services and information. A showcase of entertainment
includes pet trick contests, agility and dog training demonstrations, and
product giveaways. There will also be a charity food area, with all
proceeds going directly to our animals.

Spring Into
Action Campaign - May
First week in May
Each spring during May’s “Be Kind to Animals Week” we look
for volunteers to put on their thinking caps and raise funds on behalf
of the animals. The challenge is a creative one.
Participants may prefer the direct approach and ask their friends,
relatives or co-workers for monetary support. Campaigning door-to-door
not quite right for you?

· Create a Toonie Pot and set it up in the staff room
· Organizing a "dress- down" day,
a BBQ or bake sale
· Plan a neighbourhood Garage Sale or Book Sale
·
Email everyone in your Address Book
You will be amazed at how many people you know! Ideas
for fundraising are only limited by your imagination.
Here are 10 ways to Be Kind to Animals:
1. Speak out for animals
2. Never tolerate animal cruelty
3. Adopt a shelter pet
4. Spay or neuter your pets
5. Keep pets’ vaccinations current
6. Identify your pets with tags
7. Donate to your local animal shelter
8. Appreciate wildlife
9. Leave room for habitats
10. Teach your friends about the importance of being kind to animals
