About the London Humane Society

Established in 1899, the London Humane Society is a non- profit organization whose continuation depends solely on individual and corporate donations. We receive no government support at any level. Throughout the years, we have worked tirelessly to assist animals by providing them with a home until they can be adopted into a new family. Each year we offer shelter and care, including medical care, to hundreds of animals. Our Investigations department responds to more than 1000 complaints of animal cruelty yearly, removing animals in need and laying criminal charges when warranted. We provide the community with information and education, believing that education, particularly of our young people, is one of the most effective ways to teach a sense of responsibility toward companion animals as well as a respect and compassion for all living beings.

Mission Statement

The mission of the London Humane Society is to improve the lives of animals in our community by providing temporary shelter and appropriate new families for unwanted or cruelly treated animals, and by providing education and advocacy, and by assisting animals in distress.
