We would like to invite you to become a part of our annual event and we hope it will be our most successful yet. Your participation will go a long way to providing the animals at the shelter with food, warmth and medical attention. Since 1984 our goal has been to create a fun and informative event that raises both funds and awareness for the London Humane Society while building lasting relationships with members of our community. This family orientated event attracts people of all ages and backgrounds, and takes place in beautiful Greenway Park where a 5km route has been mapped out for our pledge earners. In addition to the walk itself, participants are invited to visit our event tents which house a wide array of exhibitors from the animal care industry who offer products, services and information. A showcase of entertainment includes pet trick contests, agility and canine unit demonstrations, CPR and first aid for dogs and product giveaways. The Bark in the Park committee would once again like to extend a special welcome to the London veterinarian community. As in past years, we are asking veterinary clinics to sponsor one of our 11 water stations along the walk’s 5km route. The requested donation is $225. If you are interested in sponsoring a water station, please contact us by April 15, 2010 so that a spot can be reserved for for you. Each participating clinic will be provided with a standard
8ft, folding table and two chairs. The clinic may choose to staff the water
stop, or if they wish, the shelter will schedule volunteers to man the stop if a
request to do so is received at least two weeks in advance of the event. New: We request that all Water stations have at least one staff member
with access to a cell phone in case of emergencies. The committee will provide an 18 x 24” sign at one of the water stations for each participating clinic with the clinic's name. We also supply drinking bowls or containers. In addition, each participating clinic will be featured on our Event Sponsor webpage and in our post event “thank you” advertisements in both the London Free Press as well as our own “Pawsitive Paws” newsletter. Please note: Your $225 donation is due in advance (May 1) of the event. Please make your cheque payable to the London Humane Society with a memo to Bark in the Park. We would like to thank you in advance for your interest in being a part of the Bark
in the Park. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions. |
